Gurdies on Spotify

The Spotify player (see http://www.spotify.com) and servers allow you to legally play music from quite a large library (if you don't subscribe, it is supported by advertising)

Some artists/genres are quite well represented, others less so - it depends what deals Spotify have done with the record companies and distributors. The selection is changing as new deals are done (and also some music is lost if rights are withdrawn).

So far I haven't much that's 'gurdy related, but perhaps others will do better ?

Here are a few to get started:

Telleman Concerto (three movements)
http://open.spotify.com/track/3QkzRpKg5MxteGDUIVNycG
http://open.spotify.com/track/3ywU8kYsg09goqkvuiel0j
http://open.spotify.com/track/59qv28nALMMmu2MWnl1VUu

Galician compilation, a number of tracks feature HG e.g.
http://open.spotify.com/track/6uYIx6RRBagMQg7LZyKdjY
http://open.spotify.com/track/1pTI41s4ay04Ptu27zekHO

And finally a sound sample which is bad enough to put anyone off the HG, some of the others on this record are better and more interesting

It's an interesting idea, I expect it will be important in the future of music distribution and if you have broad musical tastes, I am sure you will find something interesting to listen to!

Spotify is like an on-demand radio station, and is quite astounding that it is both legal and satisfying! Access is by invitation (a clever way to control the loading demands of the user population): I have a few invitations left if anyone wants one.

Hi Mark,

Spotify seems to be open-access now - I was able to download it and register without an invitation last month.

Cheers,

Maybe that happened when Spotify were forced to control exactly which tracks were available by country since I got my invitation from friends in Sweden and seem to see different things in my searches to people who connected later.

Stiil, a mighty fine thing!
