Hello from Milton Keynes

Postby Minstrels3 » Sat Jun 18, 2011 3:53 pm

Hello Everyone

I've been lurking for a while and thought it high time I signed in and said hello.

I live in Milton Keynes and have been playing gurdy (on and off) for about 5 years, mainly for Medieval music. I have a lovely Bosch made by Mike Gilpin and a D/G Dewit model made by the Dutch maker Frits van het Hooft. I love both of them deeply.

It was great to meet some fellow gurdyists at the Bagpipe Society Blowout last weekend, which has renewed my enthusiasm to practice, practice, practice.

Hi Carol,
It was great meeting you and hearing your music this weekend.
For the rest of the world here, Carol was, like my wife & me, working at an English Heritage event in Cheshire, and a smashing time we had there.
Your Bosch gurdy is indeed really nice, and carries well right across the other side of the field too :)

Next time we meet I hope to get time to take up your offer & have a play on it, if you're still wiling!

Best wishes,
