G/C Hurdy-Gurdy - Adding a Capo

Postby Jon » Thu Sep 17, 2009 11:33 pm

I am putting a capo on my G/C instrument shown below. I am using a Camac harp lever to gently pinch the string.

Obvious to put a capo on the trompette, to allow tuning the trompette up from c' (for key of C) to d' (for key of G).

What about the mouche, petit bourdon and gross bourdon on a G/C instrument. Anybody have capos on these strings for a G/C instrument? If so what tunings?

Trompette capo
Camac harp lever

Hate the lever silver color (nickel plated steel?), so I am going to ask a jeweler friend to either: gold plate the lever, or chemically blacken the lever
