The Early Music Shop stock a set of hurdy-gurdy strings (see http://www.earlymusicshop.com/Browse.aspx/en-GB/medium1_format48_arrangement519_publisher2479/1/) Does anyone have any experience of these?

I tried one chanterelle once, but got sent completely the wrong size, so I gave up. NRI are good: http://www.nrinstruments.demon.co.uk/HuG.html

also recommended French Saverez strings and I am using some excellent German ones at the moment www.kuerschner-saiten.de

We understand that Savarez have stopped offering Gut Strings now and are no longer making them. All that seems to be available now is the remainder of existing stock, which is rapidly disappearing.

More happily we too have found NRI to be very helpful and good to deal with.
